Julien and I took a road trip to Quebec City in October. It's the cutest French speaking city and reminds me of Beauty and the Beast.
We tried a really cool cocktail bar called the 1608 Bar. It's located in the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac.
This is Maple Taffy. They pour maple syrup onto snow and roll it up like a lollipop (or what I call a 'sucker').
On Saturday morning we attended a Local Quebec City Food Tours tour of the St-Roch neighborhood.
Above we started at Fromagerie des Grondines Cheese Shop and enjoyed different raw milk cheese, charcuterie, grilled cheeses and a sea buckthorn drink.
Next we went to a brewery and tried an IPA, octopus ceviche, gravlax salmon and a bean salad.
Poutine from Chez Ashton. It's a traditional poutine and nothing fancy, but tasted delicious. You'll notice that the cheese curds have a "squeaky" sound when you bite into them. That's how you know that they're fresh and haven't been in the refrigerator.

A pre-dinner snack at La Casse-Crepe Breton. We got the strawberry and nutella crepe.
You can ride the Funiculaire from the top of the city to the bottom, and vice versa. It costs $3.50 Canadian and is cash only. It's a great view at night.

We had a nice dinner at Chez Boulay which was recommended by our Food Tour Guide.
This was a really nice restaurant without the touristy, themed feel. The food was absolutely amazing.
We started with the special that was an elk carpaccio.
We then shared the lamb dinner. We ate every last bite.
We shared the creme brulee for dessert. I would highly recommend going the Chez Boulay if you ever visit Quebec City.
The Montmorency Falls were about 15 minutes drive outside of Quebec City.
